One of the most beloved films of the ‘90s makes its Blu-ray Disc premiere as Lionsgate releases Good Will Hunting in August.  Presented for the very first time in 1080P High Definition and 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio, the Miramax film launched the careers of two pals from Boston, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, who co-penned and starred in the film. The story of a headstrong, working-class genius and his psychologist took home two Academy Awards® in 1997 – Best Actor in a Supporting Role, Robin Williams; Best Original Screenplay for co-stars Matt Damon and Ben Affleck – and was nominated for seven others, including a Best Actor nod for Damon and a Best Actress nod for Minnie Driver.  Available on August 30th, the Good Will Hunting Blu-ray Disc contains numerous special features that include audio commentary, deleted scenes, a production featurette and behind-the-scenes footage, among others – as well as a digital copy of the film – for the suggested retail price of $19.99.

Good Will Hunting BDWill Hunting (Damon), is just a blue-collar worker at one of the world’s most prestigious schools, MIT.  But what the rest of the university doesn’t know is that their janitor is gifted in math and science and often spends his evenings figuring out the most difficult of equations unsolved by others.  Hunting doesn’t recognize his potential until three people enter his life, and with their encouragement, change it forever.
